Do modern Catholics no longer believe Church doctrine on merit? See especially the 3rd screen.
Do folks not recall that this is one of the doctrines that Luther hotly contested, and the Church vigorously defended?
Supernatural motive and state of grace are **required**

Is a desire for peace without conversion supernatural? Are Freemasonic humanistic goals supernatural?
Can a man who presents himself as the Vicar of Christ while committing idolatry and spewing heresy be restored to grace without first repenting publicly?
No & No.
Leaving aside Bergoglio’s illegitimacy, the fact is that this “consecration” cannot be meritorious in the eyes of God, according to the doctrine of His own Church.
This is irrefutable.
So, to those who have weird hopes or optimism, I guess my question is this:
Do you believe that an appeal to heaven by a man who declares himself the spiritual leader of the world has any chance of being accepted by God, if it is not, by actual definition, meritorious?
If so, when did you start believing such absurd nonsense?
From another post:
Even if Bergoglio decided to make it look perfectly legit, this is going to be another blasphemy to add to his list.
This time, he’s inviting all Novus Ordo bishops to mock Our Lady publicly, with him.
Very clever.
“Maybe if it’s not blasphemous enough, we’ll get partial credit & a consolation prize.”
Sure, maybe if you tell your mother it’s raining while you spit on her (respectfully), she’ll appreciate it.
What the actual hell is wrong with people.
We are forbidden from praying with heretics & blasphemers, unless they repent first.
Publicly scandalous heresy & blasphemy must be repented of … publicly.
So, this isn’t judging a man’s heart. It’s a matter of fact and law.
